Christmas

A Christmas card is the theme for this week's Art Impressions "Reason for the Season" challenge.  Art Impressions has sooooo many adorable snowmen stamp sets to pick from, but I chose the Jolly Snowmen set for this challenge.   I love the grin and happy feeling this little snowman expresses.  He just makes me smile!

I hope you enjoy my card.

Stay well and Happy Holidays!

Love of a Pet

Art Impressions is having a "Pet" challenge this week.  Since my family tends to be dog lovers, I made a dog flip card for my son's birthday using the Dog Twist set.  The dog in this set has such a cute, fun look on his face that he reminded me of my son's cute spunky dog.  These twister sets are so easy to put together for a fun interactive card.  I also used a cupcake from another set, fussy cut it and popped it up as an embellishment in the corner.

Hope you enjoy my card for today!

Stay safe and healthy!

Border flare

Good Morning!  It's almost Turkey Day!  I hope all of you are planning a nice quiet family time.

The Art Impressions challenge this week is all about Borders.  I created my card today using the AI Full of Thanks set and the Flag Double Stitched dies.  I stamped the plump cute turkey on a card size piece of cryogen white paper.  I colored him with copic markers and stamped his shirt on patterned paper and cut it out freehand.  I love this look, it just adds personality to the image.  The border is designed using the flag double stitched die with the flag on both sides.  Then I cut each piece in half and placed off the card in various lengths.  After I was satisfied with how they fell to highlight the turkey, I glued them down and cut off the card sides to the dimension of the finished card that I wanted.

Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!  Stay safe and healthy!

Surprise Party

This weeks challenge at Art Impressions is to create a Surprise card.   I created a card where the image is hidden inside.  The top panel is tied like a present and when you open it, out pops the pandas having a party.  Such a fun card with a surprise inside.   I used the Pand-tastic set for this challenge along with balloons from the Bus cubbies set.  I also used the AI double stitch rectangle dies to emboss the top panel, which created the fold lines, then cut diagonal slits to make the opening.

I popped the middle Panda up with foam tape to give it dimension, along with the balloon that he is playing with.  These little pandas are Sooooo cute!  They are just so happy and bring a smile to my face.

Hope this card brings a smile to your day.

Mini Magnets

Art Impressions challenge this week is Tiny Treasures.  I used the AI Castle Cubbies for this challenge, which includes a castle, a knight, a damsel, two unicorns and three dragons.  I thought this would make a cute little refrigerator magnet for the little ones to play with.  You know how your grandkids always play with the magnets on the fridge, well here's one for their tiny little fingers.  I made these with magnetic tape and they die cut nicely with the dies that are included with this set.  I cut one and then turned the magnetic tape upside down and cut another one.  Peeled the tape off the backs and stuck them together so that both sides were magnetic.  I used double sided tape to adhere the colored image and, tada, you have a cute little magnet.  Did the same with the castle and popped out the windows and doors.  Each piece is magnetic and movable so the little ones can rearrange and play all day (well, until their attention span wears out πŸ˜‚)

This would be cute to make with the other cubbies sets.  Can you imagine the little bus or the barn with the animals?  Very fun and easy to do thanks to the dies included with these stamp sets.  One word of warning, these magnets are tiny so beware of your youngest little ones getting ahold of them.

Have a great day and stay crafty!!

Scenic Route

Today's post is a card I made for my daughter using Art Impressions stamp sets Enjoy the Ride and Cottage and Die set (unfortunately, this last one is retired).  She just bought a house and we joke with her that we are going to ride our bikes over to visit (often πŸ˜‚).  I always wanted a tandem bike, but my husband thought I wouldn't peddle, so this image is absolutely perfect.  😁

The Art Impressions challenge this week is "Scenic Route".  I made this a fold-out card so that you could see the whole scene when opened up.  I based the card around the bike image, which I colored with copic markers, and thought it would make for a great "scene" card for the challenge.  I paper pieced the cottage which was very simple to do since Art Impressions makes their images so easy to fussy cut.  I added a few trees, clouds, grass and road to carry out the scene.

Hope you like my card and it inspires you to have fun with your stamps and dies.

Have a great day!

Halloween Fright Night

For this weeks Art Impressions challenge - Handmade Holidays - I am featuring the Art Impressions Quivery Mini Shakers.   This stamp set include dies for the pig and duck to make them pop up or wobble for a fun interactive halloween card.  It also includes dies for the bats, a spider and a pumpkin.  The fence dies are sold separately.  I created the background using distress oxide inks and a spritz of water which was a new technique for me.  I had a great time creating this one.

As with all of the AI stamps, I love the expressions on the character's faces.  Priceless! and so darn cute.

Hope you enjoy my card!  Have a happy day!

Addicted to Dies

Art Impressions is having a challenge this week - "To Die For" - and, I don't know about you, but I am addicted to dies.  I had a great time creating this card for their challenge.  Problem is, I couldn't stop die cutting and adding more to the card.  Hope I didn't go overboard, but I sure think it's cute.  I used the Art Impressions alphabet dies, Castle cubbies, double stitch rectangle (for the mini window cutouts) and also the tag die (for the saying).  I love these cute little dragons and unicorns from the Castle cubbies stamp set.  Their faces are just too adorable and make me smile.

The alphabet dies are such a great way to add pizzazz to a card.  These letters are just the right size for a card or layout.  I triple die cut each letter and stacked them to add dimension.

Hope you enjoy my card and it brings you a smile!

Easy Peasy

This week's challenge at Art Impressions is a Quick and Simple card.  Well, I have the number one "easy peasy" card for you - Art Impressions Pop Up cards.  All you have to do is punch the images out and then pop them up with foam tape.  Art Impressions no longer sells these on their website, but I was fortunate enough to purchase them at their Warehouse sale last November.  (By the way, what a blast that was!)  These sheet sets came in several different styles to pick from so, yes, I bought them all.   Makes for the simplest card and so darn cute!  Even came with sentiments to pop up!  Can it get any easier than this?

This past weekend, I was pressed for time to make a birthday card for a friend, so I reached into my supply of Pop Up sheets and created this card.  At the birthday celebration, my friends all said "This is your best card yet".  Goes to show you that sometimes the simplest card can be the favorite.  So, I ask, why do I struggle for hours trying to create a card when some friends love the easy peasy ones?  πŸ˜‚

Guess the point is - sometimes simple is best!

Summer Fun

Today I'm featuring the Art Impressions Beach Booty stamp set.  Unfortunately, this stamp set is discontinued, but I use it all the time.  It just screams summer fun!!  Her expression is the best and her booty even wobbles.  Who could ask for more?  πŸ˜‚

Hope you are enjoying your summer thus far!  There's still a little bit left so go have fun and make sure to spend some time crafting!

Cards for Kindness

Art Impressions has joined Scrapbook.Com in their Cards for Kindness event this month.  For the Art Impressions challenge, they have asked all those, that are interested, to create and submit 10 cards for this event.  What a fun and great way to provide a smile for those in need!

For this challenge, I used the Art Impressions Elephant Twist Ties stamp set.  I LOVE this set!  The elephants are so darn cute and make you smile just from their adorable face.  They are intended to twist together to close the card, but for the current challenge, I separated them and used them individually.  What fun I had in creating these.

I hope you enjoy my cards and they bring a smile and inspiration to your day!
Have a happy day and stay safe and healthy!

Queen for a Day

Today I'm featuring a card that I made for a friend of mine.  She is our Copic Queen.  She got me hooked on copic markers after seeing the cards that she creates.  I LOVE the way she colors images, especially Art Impression images, and I aspire to be like her.  Maybe one day she will pass down her crown to me.  πŸ™πŸ˜Š

I used the silhouette to cut the crown shaped card out of black and gold glitter cardstock.  I also used jewels to "bling" up the crown and make it sparkle.  The image is from the Art Impressions Crown set.  I just love her!  She has attitude without the need for a sentiment, however, I included one anyway just to add emphasis.  πŸ˜€

Hope this adds a little sparkle to your day!
Stay safe and healthy!

American horse

This is the season for Rodeo's and July 4th celebrations.  Unfortunately in our city these events were cancelled due to the Coronavirus.  So sad, but it is what it is - for this year, at least!  Like everyone else, I look forward to the good times again.  In the meantime, let's make the best of it and enjoy the fact that we are healthy and get to create fun cards - Whoo hoo!!

For the Art Impressions Challenge this week, I used an old AI stamp and die set called Horse PopCard.  It was intended as a pop up card (when you open up the card, the image pops up) but I changed it to be three dimensional on the front.  I could have even put the horses head on a wobble, but to be honest, I just thought about that.  So many ways that you can change up these stamps and make them interactive and fun.

I hope you enjoy my card and it makes you smile!
Have a great week and keep creating!!

Make you laugh

Welcome to my very first blog post.  Hope everything is Hunky-Dory!

My favorites images for cards are those created by Art Impressions.  They have a wide assortment of stamps, from funny and cute to watercolor and interactive.  I LOVE them ALL!

My first card that I am featuring is a birthday card to one of my best friends.  You may not think she should be my friend after you read the sentiment, but we laugh like crazy at our silly, sick humor.  She is older than I am and I love to rub it in, when I can, because she definitely looks younger.

Well... don't you wish you were my friend?   πŸ˜„πŸ˜‰  This card makes us laugh every time!  The image is Art Impressions "Millie" and the saying is one I found on Pinterest.
Hope this brought a chuckle into your life.
  Have a Happy Day!!
