Inside Out

 Fun challenge at Art Impressions this week called "Inside Out".  I decided to make my card an interactive peek a boo card.   When you open the card, the inside has a little bunny that was hiding and the bunny from the front is now hiding.   I used an Art Impressions stamp set called Hoppy Easter.   This is an oldie but a goodie!!  Such cute little bunnies (and one chick) in the set.  

I stamped my images on cryogen white cardstock and colored with copic markers.  I used the Art Impressions stitched circle dies for the windows.  Both of the sentiments also come with the set along with a stack of little Easter eggs.  A very useful little stamp set!

Happy Halloween

 The two-week challenge at Art Impressions is "Stencils or Mask".  This was a fun challenge for making backgrounds.  Especially at Halloween since my go to is to mask a moon for a night sky.  Always love the way this turns out, slightly different every time.

I used the witch, pumpkin and sentiment from the Art Impressions Peek A Boo stamp set as well as used several dies from various other Art Impressions sets - Fence dies and a couple bat dies from two other AI stamp sets.  The haunted tree die was from my stash.  I used a circle die to create the moon mask and inked my background with distress oxide inks then removed the mask and used mustard seed distress oxide ink for the moon, leaving a little of the white to create a glow.  I also spattered diluted white paint over the whole background.  I die cut two fences and pieced them together to create a wider fence.  The witch and pumpkin were stamped on cryogen white cardstock and colored with copic markers then cut out with the corresponding dies that come with the set.  I also die cut both images with heavy cardstock and glued to the colored image for more stability.  I popped the pumpkin up with foam tape and put the witch on a wobble.

Elephants are great

 This week's challenge at Art Impressions is "Zoo Crew" - any project with animals.  I can never have enough images of elephants.  Don't know why I'm drawn to them, but I just love them.  So, for this challenge I used the Art Impressions Elephant Twist Tie (#4985) stamp set.  This set is sooo versatile and comes with a die to partial cut the elephants to form the twist of the trunks.  By using the die, you can then fussy cut the remaining part of the elephants and use each of them individually.  Also, soooo easy to color.  I have used this stamp set for soooo many occasions!

I made this card for a friend's new baby girl.  This set is sooo cute for either a boy or a girl, just change the color theme from pink to blue (or any color of choice).  The twist tie cards create a trifold card with a heart shape window.  The twist of the trunks hold the card closed.  Such a cute creative card!

Mini Magnets

 Art Impressions challenge this week is Tiny Treasures.  I used the AI Castle Cubbies for this challenge, which includes a castle, a knight, a damsel, two unicorns and three dragons.  I thought this would make a cute little refrigerator magnet for the little ones to play with.  You know how your grandkids always play with the magnets on the fridge, well here's one for their tiny little fingers.  I made these with magnetic tape and they die cut nicely with the dies that are included with this set.  I cut one and then turned the magnetic tape upside down and cut another one.  Peeled the tape off the backs and stuck them together so that both sides were magnetic.  I used double sided tape to adhere the colored image and, tada, you have a cute little magnet.  Did the same with the castle and popped out the windows and doors.  Each piece is magnetic and movable so the little ones can rearrange and play all day (well, until their attention span wears out 😂)

This would be cute to make with the other cubbies sets.  Can you imagine the little bus or the barn with the animals?  Very fun and easy to do thanks to the dies included with these stamp sets.  One word of warning, these magnets are tiny so beware of your youngest little ones getting ahold of them.

Make you laugh

Welcome to my very first blog post.  Hope everything is Hunky-Dory!

  My favorites images for cards are those created by Art Impressions.  They have a wide assortment of stamps, from funny and cute to watercolor and interactive.  I LOVE them ALL!  

  My first card that I am featuring is a birthday card to one of my best friends.  You may not think she should be my friend after you read the sentiment, but we laugh like crazy at our silly, sick humor.  She is older than I am and I love to rub it in, when I can, because she definitely looks younger.

  Well... don't you wish you were my friend?   😄😉  This card makes us laugh every time!  The image is Art Impressions "Millie" and the saying is one I found on Pinterest.  

  Hope this brought a chuckle into your life.
