Hunter's Surprise Card

 Happy Thursday AI Friends!

I had way too much fun making this card for the "Feeling Crafty" blog challenge.  I just love this image from the #5043 - Ole Buck set.  These guys are a "hoot", so adding a little bit of extra humor just fit.  Well, actually, their pup is the one that added the humor.  Check out the pull tab and see who's wearing the deer horns.  πŸ˜„  I'm not really sure why I found this so funny, maybe it's because what hunter hasn't had their dog run off during a hunt.  This one just decided to disguise himself.  LOL!

Peek a Boo!

This is a gate fold 5" x 7" card with a magnetic closure under the left panel and a pocket on the right panel.   I made the card base by cutting two 5" x 11" panels, one from white cardstock and one from craft cardstock.  I scored and burnished both at 7".   Flip the cardstock pieces so that the folds are on opposite sides facing up.  Adhere the long craft cardstock panel to the inside of the long white cardstock panel.  This will leave a gate fold craft piece on the left and the white on the right.  Trim the white side down to 3 1/2".  Cut a piece of 3 1/2 x 5" craft paper and a piece of 3 3/8 x 4 7/8" pattern paper.  Using the middle square of the #5061 - Square Double Stitch dies, cut a piece out of the center of the pattern paper panel.  Using the #5811 - Gift card pocket die, partial die cut the pocket (see pic below) using craft cardstock.  Adhere the pattern paper square to the front of the pocket.

Adhere the pattern paper with the hole in it to the 3 1/2" x 5" craft panel.  Adhere this panel over the white fold edge of the card base.  Adhere the pocket over the square hole on the pattern paper panel.

The images were stamped onto copic friendly paper with Memento black ink and colored with copic markers listed below.  The main image was cut with the largest die of the square stitched dies and mounted onto a piece of pattern paper and then matted onto a piece of craft cardstock.  The hat with deer horns is from the #5406 - Mr. Set and the dog is from the #AICS38 - Doggy Kisses set.  I fussy cut the dog and brought his tail end closer to his front end.  I colored his bandage as a sweater and made the flowers look more like a weed since he is out in the hills.  The hat was cut with the corresponding die and fit perfectly on his head.  I placed the dog onto the pocket insert so that only the horns peeked out of the pocket.  I tied a pull tab with the target onto the horns.  I added a couple of the sentiments from the #5043 - Ole Buck set and called it done.

Hope you decide to enter the blog challenge for a chance to win a free stamp set of your choice.

Thanks for joining me today!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Chick Bookmark Card

 Happy Thursday AI Friends!

We definitely are getting to enjoy the Spring air here and just in time for Easter.  Yay!  However, I'm hearing that it's suppose to change next week.  Let's hope the weathermen are wrong.  Fingers crossed!

Maybe my card for today will inspire the nice Spring weather to continue.  🀞

I created a comical corner bookmark that slides over the card.  When removed it reveals the "Spring is in the Air" sentiment from the #5867 - Mini Easter Sentiment set.  This bookmark is sure to give someone a chuckle every time they open their book.  I just love him and the funny saying!  I hope I don't offend anyone with that sentiment, but it just fit this image perfectly.  😁

The polka dots on the egg was a Sharon inspiration.  Thank you Sharon for the cute idea!

I used the #5401 - Easter Chicks stamp set for the images and the #6042 - Corner Bookmark die set for the detachable bookmark.  I stamped the images onto copic friendly paper and colored with my copic markers listed below.  The images were then cut using the coordinating dies within the set.

For the pattern papers, I used the #6036 - Easter Bunny PP and the #5892 - Easter S2 PP.  The Art Impressions paper packs coordinate well together.   I cut several circles using the #5064 - Double stitched circle dies and also the #5726 - Nested Circle dies.

I started with a base card panel made with heavy cardstock and cut to an A2 size - 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.  I then created a smaller card (size 4 3/4 x 3 3/8) that will be adhered to the front.  I layered the mats and pattern paper panels to the base and also to the front of the card.  I then layered the circle panels and adhered the images to the top layers.  I popped up the bottom chick but not the one on the bookmark.  I didn't want to add any more bulk to the bookmark.  I placed the bookmark onto the card corner and adhered the egg chick panel to the bookmark.  I then adhered the other chick panel to the card base.  The last circle panel was adhered to the card base, lining it up directly under the circle of the bookmark.

I attached the card to the base, lining up to the bottom edge so that the card will stand up on its own.

That's it for me today!  Thanks for joining me and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Keep creating!

Nurse's Prescription

Happy Thursday AI Friends!

Today I have a fun card using the #4899 - Proud Nurse stamp set.  A friend of mine is a nurse and I knew she would appreciate this birthday card and the funny sentiment included in this stamp set.  She may use that line for some of her patients.  LOL!

I made this a fun fold card using a magnet for the closure.  I hid it under the paper layers so you only hear the snap when it closes.  What is it about that sound that makes it so fun to open and close the card?  πŸ˜‚

To make the card base, I cut a piece of 5 1/2" x 7 1/4" heavy cardstock.  I scored it along the 7 1/4" side at 3" and 6".  This will make it an A2 card size.  Fold and burnish each score line in opposite directions.  Create your mat panels for each of the sections.   I used the #5873 - Mini Birthday PP for the pattern paper panels.

For the front panel, I stamped the image onto copic friendly paper with Memento black ink and colored with my copic markers listed below.  I then die cut the panel using the #6048 - Scalloped Rectangle dies as well as the larger pink panel.  The blue panel in the middle is cut to fit between the two scallop rectangles.   I adhered the matted image panel to the folded right side only of the card.  The left side of the card will close under the image panel.

The sentiment on the left side of the card is from my stash.   I figured that went perfectly with the front sentiment, plus I got to include myself in on the wine splurge.  LOL!

Thanks for joining me today!  Have a great day and keep creating!

Playing in the Dirt

 Happy Thursday AI Friends!

Summer came and went soooo fast but I still want to play in the dirt.  We are definitely headed into fall here but some of you may still have some great summer weather left so hopefully you feel inspired to go play for those of us that can't.  πŸ˜€

I combined #5000 - Gotta Garden set and #5817 - Potting Garden Shed to create this interactive card.  This is a larger than normal card but it's a fun size - 8 1/5 x 5.

I started out by stamping the images onto copic friendly paper with Memento black ink and colored with copic markers listed below.  I fussy cut the images.  The garden shed is a watercolor stamp set and has a few garden pots at the base, so I just fussy cut them off and popped up the boots and garden hose over the cut area.  I also cut an opening in the door and placed some tools and garden gloves inside.  These accessories are from the #SC0650 - His & Hers Gardeners set.  I also colored and cut some flowers from the #5935 - Fairytale Houses set.

I die cut a slider track into the dirt panel and placed the playful couple onto a disk that pops through both sides of the track to allow for the movement.  I then popped up the dirt panel, making sure not to place pop dots or foam tape to close to the slider track.  You could use a pull tab, but I chose to move the couple back and forth with my fingers.

Check out the video below to see the interactive movement.

That's it for me today.  Hope you have a wonderful day!

Loungin' Linda Bday

 Happy Thursday AI Friends!

I know I've said it before, but I'm going to say it again.  These new AI ladies are a HOOT!
I made this card for a friend of mine and, yes, she will always be older than me so I'm going to rub it in when I can.  😁  But, I can say with sadness, she doesn't look older! πŸ˜›

I stamped the images on copic friendly paper with Memento black ink and colored with my copic markers listed below.   I used the 6077 - Loungin' Linda stamp set along with the 5509 - Beach Accessories stamp set (handbag).

I also used the 5873 Mini Birthday PP and the 5132 - Tag Stitched dies.  The sentiment, balloons and scallop stitch edges are from my stash.

Hope you have a wonderful day!  Keep creating!

Birthday Man Card

 Happy Thursday AI Friends!

I thought I'd share a card that I made for my husband for his birthday.  The image from the #5421 Sit Back Laugh Lines was just perfect for him.  Remote control and all.  😁  This guy is just so cute and funny!

I stamped the image on copic friendly paper with memento black ink and colored with my copic markers listed below.  I decided to use the pattern paper from the #5606 Harvest Journal PP to paper piece the recliner.  Love the plaid!  I layered pattern pieces with a white strip for the floor board and die cut with the #5062 Rounded Rectangle A2 Double Stitched dies.  I then used the #5724 Nested Rectangle die to cut a center rectangle, creating a frame, to inset the image.  I popped up the "frame" with foam tape.  I also added the wall clock from the #5323 MB Wall Accessories.

This was a simple card but I hope it inspires you to create masculine cards.

Thanks for joining me today!  Have a wonderful day!

Get Well Soon

     Happy Thursday AI Friends!

I have been wanting to make a card with the #SCO681 Get Well stamp set for quite some time.  I just love the expressions on their faces!   Classic!!

I stamped the images on copic friendly paper and colored with my copic markers - colors listed below.  I die cut the image panel from the #5063 Rectangle A1 Double Stitch dies and the sentiment from the #5132 Tag Stitched Dies (partial cut).  I then used the #5724 Nested Rectangle Dies to frame both the image panel as well as the sentiment with the blue and brown cardstock.  I fussy cut the pill bottles and popped them up with foam tape.  I added a twine bow and the card is complete.

This stamp set just makes me giggle!  The images as well as the sentiments are just too funny and sure to make someone that is under the weather chuckle.  The supplies I used are listed below and you can find each of them in the Art Impressions store.  Just click on the product link below.

Hope you have a wonderful day and keep creating!

Giggle

Art Impressions is having a challenge this week called  "Tickle Our Funny Bone".  I love funny cards and sentiments so this will be fun to see the entries!  Art Impressions has great images that make you giggle just looking at their expressions. You can find such great sentiments to go with their expressions that will just bring a smile to your face.

I made this card for a girlfriend of mine.  Four of us were on a trip and we had to call the paramedics.  Well, we sure enjoyed the view when they showed up and almost forgot what we called them for.  Haha!  We all joke about it now but we won't forget how cute they were.

I used a retired Art Impressions image that I purchased at their warehouse sale a couple of years ago.  I can't remember the name of this golden oldie, but loved her expression and thought it went great with this saying.

Hope this card makes you giggle!

Queen for a Day

Today I'm featuring a card that I made for a friend of mine.  She is our Copic Queen.  She got me hooked on copic markers after seeing the cards that she creates.  I LOVE the way she colors images, especially Art Impression images, and I aspire to be like her.  Maybe one day she will pass down her crown to me.  πŸ™πŸ˜Š

I used the silhouette to cut the crown shaped card out of black and gold glitter cardstock.  I also used jewels to "bling" up the crown and make it sparkle.  The image is from the Art Impressions Crown set.  I just love her!  She has attitude without the need for a sentiment, however, I included one anyway just to add emphasis.  πŸ˜€

Hope this adds a little sparkle to your day!
Stay safe and healthy!

Make you laugh

Welcome to my very first blog post.  Hope everything is Hunky-Dory!

My favorites images for cards are those created by Art Impressions.  They have a wide assortment of stamps, from funny and cute to watercolor and interactive.  I LOVE them ALL!

My first card that I am featuring is a birthday card to one of my best friends.  You may not think she should be my friend after you read the sentiment, but we laugh like crazy at our silly, sick humor.  She is older than I am and I love to rub it in, when I can, because she definitely looks younger.

Well... don't you wish you were my friend?   πŸ˜„πŸ˜‰  This card makes us laugh every time!  The image is Art Impressions "Millie" and the saying is one I found on Pinterest.
Hope this brought a chuckle into your life.
  Have a Happy Day!!
